Underfloor Heating Edge Insulation Tape Features

The tapes used in underfloor heating applications are very important. With its self-adhesive structure, the hot water heated by the boiler or combi boiler will heat the screed on it as it passes through the underfloor heating pipes. It prevents the useful heat of the heated screed from passing to the walls and cooling, thus providing significant energy savings.

The greatest benefit of this tape will be in the coating laid on the screed. In cases where the edge insulation tape is not used, the screed heated by the heat transfer from the floor heating pipes will want to expand, but since it is completely connected to the walls, it will not be able to expand. This will cause damage to surfaces such as laminate, ceramic, etc. covered on the floor. However, if the edge insulation tape is used, the screed will be glued to the walls and taken into a pool, and a space will be left for the screed heated by the floor heating pipes to expand. Later, when the cooled screed is pulled back, it will fill the gap that will form again with its flexible structure.
